Setting RecordForAll to update your Library regularly

If you're someone who's constantly downloading sound files from many sources or frequently recording new commentary, RecordForAll offers a convenient way to help you keep your Library up-to-date. You can set RecordForAll to compare what's in the Library to the directories on your hard drive where you store your sound files. So, for example, if the ID3 tag for a track is updated with new information, RecordForAll will grab the new data during a scan and automatically add it to your Library!

See below

To set RecordForAll to update your Library based on the contents of a directory

Every time you start RecordForAll, it scans the files in the directories you specify and compares them with the files already in your Library. If you're running Windows 2000 or Windows XP, RecordForAll also performs this scan whenever the specified directories are updated.

  1. On the Tools menu, choose Options, and then click the Library tab.

  2. Click Automatically Update the Library based on the Following Directories. (You should see a check mark in the box.)

  3. Click Add Directory.

  4. Browse for and select the directory or folder you want RecordForAll to scan regularly for new files and for new ID3 data for existing files, and then click OK.

RecordForAll will scan for files in the directory you select as well as all sub-directories within it.

  1. Repeat Steps 3 and 4 for as many directories and folders as you like, and then click OK.

To remove a directory from the list of directories RecordForAll scans
